Students in Starfire Math explore a world of fun, creative mathematics. They learn by exploring and solving interesting and challenging mathematical problems, logic puzzles, multi-step problems, and brain teasers. Learning through problem solving is both challenging and rewarding; it requires creativity, logic, deep thinking, persistence and perseverance.
Starfire Math students work to develop:
- a deep understanding of math concepts
- the ability to think critically, logically and creatively when presented with a problem.
- the ability to explain their thinking and to defend their methods for solving problems.
- the ability to work collaboratively to solve challenging problems.
Starfire classes foster a growth mindset, grit, collaboration, and empathy. Our classrooms are fun, emotionally, intellectually safe and supportive learning environments. Starfire teachers inspire intellectual and personal growth in their students. The teachers love what they do and their passion is contagious.
