Animal Art: Painting, Drawing and Mixed Media for Fall (4th - 8th grade)

Expand your painting, drawing, and design skills through depicting your favorite animals. In this session we find inspiration from animals and insects that have fur, wings, gills, scales and more! We’ll explore a variety of mediums including watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, printing, and collage. Each session incorporates basics of color theory, good design and composition. This course is suitable for artists of all levels

Cherise Thompson is a Bay Area artist and art teacher. She holds a B.A. in Studio Art from U.C., Santa Cruz, with a concentration in painting and printmaking and an A.A. in Graphic and Interactive Design from Foothill College. She enjoys teaching people of all ages and has taught at the Pacific Art League of Palo Alto, Encinal After School, La Entrada After School, Kids at Heart and the Boys & Girls Club. Her artwork is in many private collections in the U.S. and abroad. She maintains a studio at Palo Alto Studios.
